Full Briefing

Campaign window

According to the election timetable, parties and candidates are allowed to conduct intensive campaigning – public meetings, door-to-door visits, manifesto launches and media programmes – during the designated campaign period in the second half of February.

They must, however, respect local noise regulations, traffic rules and the election code of conduct’s restrictions on the use of public spaces and institutions.

Silence period

A two-day silence period will begin immediately before polling day.

During this time, rallies, new advertisements, opinion polls and voter appeals are prohibited.

Media outlets are expected to refrain from publishing or broadcasting content that could be construed as direct campaigning for or against candidates or parties.

Voters are encouraged to use this cooling-off period to review information they have already received and make an informed, independent choice on March 5.
