EC declares logistics ready for March 5
According to recent briefings, the Election Commission (EC) has completed nationwide distribution of ballot papers, ballot boxes and other essential materials for the March 5 House of Representatives election. Officials said consignments have reached all 77 districts, with district election offices now responsible for forwarding materials to individual polling centres.
The EC has also highlighted that voter education campaigns are active in all 6,743 wards of the 753 local levels. Trained volunteers are using pamphlets, household visits and small community meetings to explain how to correctly mark the first-past-the-post and proportional representation ballots, and to reduce invalid votes.
Election staff and security personnel assigned to election duty have started travelling towards remote constituencies several days in advance, especially in mountain and hill districts where access can be affected by weather and road conditions. The Commission has requested federal, provincial and local authorities to ensure that schools, health posts and ward offices identified as polling centres are made available and accessible on polling day.
