Official Analysis

Security and election officials have repeatedly stated that the March 5 House of Representatives election will be held on schedule.

The Election Commission has said it is ‘ready to conduct the election in all locations’ and that there is ‘no alternative’ to the announced date, despite concerns about snow and cold conditions in some high-altitude districts.

Logistical plans, including the use of helicopters and special vehicles, have been put in place precisely to manage winter challenges in remote areas.

While extremely severe weather could disrupt specific polling centres on election day, there is currently no official indication that the nationwide polling date will be postponed.
